Happy Hamstrings! Hamstrings and Leg Stretches

Anatomy, Asana and Alignment of the Feet, Hips, Thighs, Hamstrings & Pelvis in standing and seated Forward Folds.

Did you know that standing and seated forward folds (bends) are contraindicated (not recommended) for much of the general public?

Join us as we explore the Pelvis, Spine, and Hamstrings in Standing and Seated Forward Folds (Bends). We'll review the Anatomy and Physiology of the Pelvis, Spine, and Hamstrings, discuss their strengths and weaknesses then introduce Alignment Principles to safely create stability in Pelvis and Spine and healthy range of motion in Hamstrings in Standing and Seated Forward Folds. And to put the Anatomy and Alignment Principles into Action, we'll incorporate all this information into an Asana practice (physical poses) emphasizing Classical Leg Stretches and Standing and Seated Forward Folds (Bends). This course offers an in-depth study of classical Leg Stretches and Hamstring openers for the beginner student or it is a great refresher for the intermediate or advanced yogi or yogini.

We will also address the spiritual aspects of the Hamstring openers including, but not limited to the Bhandas, Vayus, Chakras and Nadis.

  • Happy Hamstrings: Seated Forward Folds + Chakra System Review – 5 hours – $75 – Sunday, September 7, 2014
